Business Development Associate, International Healthcare Firm Backed by Family Office, Zurich

Reference: 5949 /19G

A healthcare company backed by a prominent Swiss family office is looking to hire a new business development Associate into their fast-growing entrepreneurial team. The position will be based in Zurich but involves frequent travel across Europe

A renowned family office is building a pan-European healthcare player with headquarters in Switzerland. The firm is led by a number of experienced senior managers who are planning to grow the company further through add-on acquisitions in several European markets. To assist with this growth the team is now looking to bring on board a new Associate to work on M&A projects, strategy initiatives and general business development. You will be based in Zurich but will be expected to frequently travel to other European subsidiaries. While native German is not a requirement, excellent English is mandatory and you will need to feel comfortable living in Zurich. Additional European languages are very helpful.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • You will support the growth of the company through strategy initiatives, operational alignment and add-on acquisitions focusing on the European healthcare sector
  • Through your own operational experience and the firm’s strong industrial network you will work towards building a true market leader
  • Day-to-day tasks will include the analysis of European healthcare markets, screening of potential targets and the preparation of internal documents for board meetings
  • Working with a dynamic, entrepreneurial team you will be able to launch a long-term career with a truly international healthcare player

YOUR PROFILE:

  • Excellent academics from a top-tier university
  • Previous transaction experience is not needed but you are likely to have had exposure to PMIs, strategic and operational projects at a major strategy consultancy. Ideally, you have gained initial experience in the healthcare sector
  • You bring outstanding commercial judgment and good financial skills and have the ability to communicate effectively with seniors internally, management teams of potential targets and external advisors alike
  • A hands-on work attitude and the drive to deliver results quickly will be indispensable
  • Native level German is not a requirement as the firm's working language is English, but you should be open to relocating to Zurich long term and feel comfortable living and working there; some understanding of German is therefore helpful but not essential. However, excellent English language skills are crucial. Additional languages would be advantageous
