As a Barclays Latin America Local Markets Strategist, you will to be responsible for driving key views on the region's rates and FX markets. In this role, you will work with the team to develop Emerging Market quantitative models, and work on daily market movements, react to events, and develop long term models. As a Barclays Latin American Local Markets Strategist, you will analyse Latin American fx and rates markets, given economic fundamentals, political risks, and broad macro markets.

What will you be doing?
• Staying informed on developments in Latin America that affect FX and rates in local markets, as well as global macro themes affecting the asset class • Generating trade ideas and strategies in LatAm local markets (both FX and rates) • Authoring periodic, thematic, and quantitative studies, as well as contributing to firm's global publications with views on LatAm and EM • Supporting team in thematic research and model/infrastructure development • Creating and maintain quantitative models for analyzing emerging markets, including back-testing • Developing collaborative relationships with internal and external institutional and corporate clients, as well as address client requests • Collaborating with colleagues within research, sales, and trading • Preparing presentations for clients
What we're looking for:
• Clear and effective communication skills, both written and spoken • Proven team player with initiative, motivation, and eagerness to learn • Advanced quantitative and analytical skills, with a methodical and analytical approach to solving problems • Excellent Excel, PowerPoint skills, as well as solid econometrics and programming skills (Python, R)

• Proficient in Spanish or Portuguese • Graduate degree is preferred
