HSBC Belgium has a Compliance function which supports the various businesses in Belgium. As part of this support we are looking for a motivated individual to join the FCC team within the Compliance function, as such we are recruiting for the position of:

 

Country Head of Financial Crime Compliance
Permanent contract

 

Reporting to the Regional Head of FCC, you will be responsible for management information and reporting Financial Crime Risk activity and may also be involved in any related projects.

 

Role and Responsibilities:

The Country Head of FCC is a strategic role under the FCC umbrella. The role has a broad remit and responsibilities for supporting the Regional Head of FCC in providing comprehensive management coverage of all aspects of Financial Crime Risk in Country ranging from FCC Advisory as well as Oversight and Report (including driving coordination and execution of the various Financial Crime Compliance work-streams, while ensuring alignment with Global Standards).

Financial Crime Compliance Advisory roles are accountable for ensuring adequate controls are in place to manage financial crime  risk. They provide subject matter expertise for the purpose of setting policy, providing guidance and advising the businesses and functions on managing financial crime risk to ensure HSBC's compliance to both global and local laws, rules and regulations relating to financial crimes.

Role holders will carry out activities that will include most of the following:

• Drive delivery of objectives in line with organisational strategy enabling the achievement of functional or regional results
• Senior operational leader or leading technical or expertise specialist exercising control over resources, policy formulation and planning with primary accountability for end results
• Champions and embeds best practice management and administrative procedures in own area of responsibility and support or drive implementation of transformational change
• Support functional activity and/or work with Group across region or specific function, contributing to functional planning based on detailed understanding of own area of responsibility and overseeing day to day relationships with stakeholders
• Input expertise to meet stakeholder priorities
• Direct major projects or programmes with significant business impact within department, area, and business unit
• Management responsibility for team(s), providing clear direction, setting performance targets subordinate managers and contribute to employees’ professional development

The role holders will be providing complete management coverage of all FCC advisory activities and execution of tactical and strategic change management activities across all FCC work-streams while ensuring embedding of Global Standards. The role holder will act as the Money-Laundering Reporting Officer for the country.

 

Professional Skills and Experience;

• Previous experience in a Financial Crime Compliance department in a similar position preferably within a peer, which allows role holder to have the ability to recognize and report suspicious financial activities
• Experience in compilation of reports and /or SARs reporting experience
• Experience in undertaking investigations/ analysis to customer activity with the ability to draw inferences from the information
• Strong data analysis and Management Information production skills and experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
• Ability to approach and communicate with senior managers as well as Regional Compliance
• Experience in supporting the delivery of FCC-related projects and/or working independently on projects/assignments
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel).
• Flexible, able to work in pressurized environment and manage priorities effectively
• Organized and methodical approach to tasks.
• Problem solver
• Fluency in English
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
