In this role, you will be working as part of the European HR team and will be primarily responsible for providing comprehensive HR support to 13 dedicated locations (Western Union stores) in Belgium, employing 50 Front-Line Associates (Customer Service Associates / Cashiers).
Role Responsibilities - Manage day-to-day HR tasks for the WU Stores in Belgium (13 stores in various locations).
- Work with the local management team to effectively undertake manpower planning for the organization including determining the levels of resource needed and managing any FLA recruitment.
- Manage the recruitment process for Front-Line Associates across all locations in Belgium.
- Manage all employee relations issues that arise in a commercially sensible way that limits risk of litigation.
- Provide support in managing absences, monitoring of time off including all sick absence/holiday by working in collaboration with the HR Knowledge Centre (HRKC).
- Liaise with the Government Bodies in Belgium to answer their requests for information.
- Support the wider HR team in the management and deployment of the regular HR calendar events including the performance management conversation, annual pay review and talent management processes.
- Work with the HRKC and Payroll to resolve any queries/issues that arise from the monthly pay roll run.
Role Requirements - Previous experience in a generalist role, ideally within the retail or branch/retail banking sector.
- Knowledge of the local HR practices and Employment Law in Belgium.
- Experience managing Employee Relations cases, including taking disciplinary action up to and including dismissals, management of sick absences cases and grievances.
- Ability to work in a stand-alone role with minimum supervision.
- Ability to influence and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels in the organization.
- Ability to collaborate with other teams in a global, fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English, French and Dutch.
- This role is a Work from Home position with some travels requirements to various locations in Belgium.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office - experience using Workday is a plus.
