Senior Analyst/Junior Manager Private Equity

Your role & work environment

The Corporate Investments department manages the Private Equity portfolio of ING Belgium. The mission of ING Corporate Investments is to generate medium-term capital gains from significant minority investments in non quoted companies. These investments include leveraged buy-outs, development capital investments and selected venture capital.
As a member of the Corporate Investments team, you will work in close cooperation with senior investment managers in the prospection of new target investee companies, the analysis of these targets (financial analysis and development of business plan, financing schemes, market research and analysis,...), in preparing the investment notes and files to be submitted to the committee of investment.

Your key responsibilities
You will be responsible for working as a team member, bringing your knowledge and ideas in regular team meetings and helping the team to perform best throughout the entire portfolio. Specifically, yoou will assist and work closely with one of the senior team members on individaul transactions.
Deal Origination

  • Prepare selection of targets together with team and develop internal contacts with network
  • Analysis of industries and identified companies
  • Prepare investment pitches
    Transaction support
  • Work closely with senior team members on transactions: valuations, structuring of financing, due diligence
  • Prepare investment memorandum for Investment Committee
    Portfolio follow-up
  • Assist senior managers in follow-up and preparation of Board meetings, analysis of markets in which portfolio companies are active, ad hoc research on all aspects of the underlying businesses and their financing
  • Quarterly valuation review and internal reportings for compliance and financial reporting purposes. Additionally monitor portfolio performance.
  • Prepare exit process and negotiations

    As a senior analyst/junior manager you will also need:
  • Essential university formation (preferably civil engineer / commercial engineer or applied economics
  • 2 to 4 years in a function of in corporate finance or financial advisory.
  • Spirit of collaboration and team work
  • Commercial attitude
  • Ability to analyse and solve complex problems and find creative solutions to help the investee companies and make the deals come true
  • Experience in financial commercial work with midsized companies is an advantage.
  • Motivation to work in long and complex deals

  • Very good understanding of valuation techniques and financial modelling
  • Eagerness to learn on the job
  • Very good knowledge of French, Dutch and English
