An international recognized law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Assocaite to join its team remotely in the state of California. This opportunity is ideal for a highly motivated insurance defense attorney with a minimum of 7-12 years of litigation experience who thrives in a sophisticated, fast-paced environment and is capable of independently managing complex matters from inception through resolution.

The ideal candidate is a strong litigator, exceptional legal writer, and strategic thinker who can confidently handle all phases of litigation while mentoring junior attorneys and serving as a trusted advisor to clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently manage a caseload of approximately 10-20 insurance defense matters.
• Conduct thorough claim investigations and develop case strategies.
• Draft, respond to, and manage all aspects of written discovery.
• Review, analyze, and prepare documents for production.
• Conduct legal research and prepare case analyses.
• Take and defend depositions, including expert and fact witness examinations.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other substantive filings.
• Attend hearings, argue motions, and advocate on behalf of clients.
• Prepare pre-trial filings and trial materials.
• Handle mediations, settlement conferences, and trial preparation.
• Maintain proactive communication and reporting with clients and carriers.
• Supervise/collaborate and mentor associates, paralegals, and other legal professionals.

Qualifications

• Resides in California and is an active membership in good standing with the California Bar.
• Minimum of 7-12 years of insurance defense litigation experience.
• Demonstrated experience handling all phases of complex litigation.
• Strong deposition, motion practice, mediation, and trial preparation skills.
• Exceptional legal writing, research, and analytical abilities.
• Effective oral advocacy and courtroom presence.
• Outstanding client relationship and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring junior attorneys and staff.
• Solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to identify issues and drive results.
• Capable of traveling for trial
