We are seeking a Treasury Relationship Manager to manage and grow a portfolio of Financial Institution clients, including large insurance companies, private equity firms, asset managers, hedge funds, exchanges, and payment networks. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to clients and internal stakeholders, providing strategic guidance on treasury solutions while driving new business opportunities and deepening existing relationships.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $117K - $190K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation. We are seeking a Treasury Relationship Manager to manage and grow a portfolio of Financial Institution clients, including large insurance companies, private equity firms, asset managers, hedge funds, exchanges, and payment networks. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to clients and internal stakeholders, providing strategic guidance on treasury solutions while driving new business opportunities and deepening existing relationships.
Major Responsibilities:
80% Business Development & Relationship Management
- Develop and execute a Treasury Sales strategy focused on insurance companies, asset managers, private equity funds, fund administrators, and other non-bank financial institutions.
- Identify and originate new treasury management opportunities through close partnership with Relationship Managers, Product, and other internal stakeholders.
- Deepen existing client relationships by understanding business objectives, cash flow dynamics, liquidity needs, and operational challenges, and delivering tailored treasury solutions.
- Leverage MUFG's lending relationships, balance sheet, and broader product capabilities to expand wallet share and drive cross-sell opportunities.
- Participate in client account planning and strategic reviews, developing actionable growth plans based on client priorities, competitive positioning, and revenue opportunities.
- Lead treasury solution discussions with clients and prospects, including proposal development, solution design, pricing strategy, and contract negotiations.
- Maintain an active sales pipeline, deliver accurate forecasting, and provide regular reporting on business development activities and revenue generation.
- Partner with Product Management to provide client feedback, enhance existing capabilities, and identify emerging treasury solutions for the Financial Institutions sector.
- Prepare and present exception pricing and business cases to appropriate governance forums when required.
- Maintain detailed client records, deal activity, and competitive intelligence within bank's sales management platforms.
20% Risk Management & Compliance
- Ensure all client activities and sales practices comply with applicable bank policies, regulatory requirements, and internal risk management standards.
- Maintain a strong understanding of KYC, AML, BSA, sanctions, and other regulatory requirements impacting financial institution clients.
- Support account onboarding activities and periodic client reviews by partnering with Compliance, Operations, and Coverage teams to ensure timely completion of required documentation and due diligence.
- Identify, escalate, and appropriately manage potential risks, suspicious activity, or compliance concerns in accordance with bank policy.
- Complete all required compliance, risk, and regulatory training and adhere to established control frameworks.
- Develop a thorough understanding of client business models, anticipated transaction activity, and treasury operating practices to support effective risk management and ongoing client monitoring.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 7-10 years of sales and relationship management experience, preferably with a leading transaction banking provider (domestic or international).
- Experience selling treasury products, liquidity, and commercial card solutions to insurance companies, asset managers, private equity funds, fund administrators, and other non-bank financial institutions.
- Provide strategic insights and thought leadership to clients.
- Established network and industry relationships within the Financial Institutions Group sector preferred
- Strong understanding of fund structures, capital call and distribution processes, subscription and redemption cash flows, fund administrator operating models, and insurance company balance sheet and liquidity management.
- Knowledge of the regulatory and operational considerations impacting financial institutions, including insurance companies, asset managers, private equity funds, and other non-bank financial institutions.
- Deep expertise in domestic and international payments, including a strong understanding of SWIFT messaging standards and payments infrastructure.
- Proven ability to identify, develop, negotiate, and close complex sales opportunities while building long-term client relationships.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present and position the bank's solutions to sophisticated financial institution clients.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and the responsible use of AI-enabled tools within the bank's risk and compliance framework.
- Willingness and ability to travel locally and regionally to meet with clients and prospects.
