This role reports directly into the Chapter Lead Paid Media Delivery within Marketing and Corporate Affairs, within our Paid and Owned Centre of Excellence, who collectively define and execute paid owned and earned media and channel plans.
Through a comprehensive and deep understanding of our Paid Media Channels, this position will be vital in the Chapter to implement world-class marketing initiatives that enhance the vibrancy of the CBA brand. The focus will be on driving brand preference, creating demand centric marketing campaigns, and achieving NPS outcomes through impactful execution across paid media platforms. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for platforms, and the operationalisation of customer-centric marketing, particularly specialising in Paid Media.

The focus will be on driving brand preference, creating demand centric marketing campaigns, and achieving NPS outcomes through impactful execution across paid media platforms. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for platforms, and the operationalisation of customer-centric marketing, particularly specialising in Paid Media.
You will have responsibility for:
- Lead the tactical planning of digital-only Bronze briefs, defining objectives, KPIs, channel mix, budgets, pacing and funnel sequencing in line with CBA brand, performance goals and JBP ambitions.
- Develop audience and creative planning across paid social, paid search, display and programmatic, including targeting architecture, exclusions, placement requirements and creative variant mapping.
- Coordinate digital plan governance and handover, ensuring planning inputs are documented, final media submissions are received and assigned to delivery, and budget, invoicing and portfolio pacing remain accurate.
Your key responsibilities
- Define campaign objectives, KPIs and target audience segments in alignment with CBA brand and performance goals, ensuring digital activity ladders up to broader channel strategy and investment allocations.
- Develop tactical digital media recommendations across paid social, paid search, display and programmatic, informed by audience behaviour data, seasonality, historical performance benchmarks and channel best practice.
- Establish budget pacing parameters, flight dates and funnel sequencing logic from awareness through to conversion, guiding trafficking, optimisation and performance decision-making throughout the campaign lifecycle.
- Review digital planning recommendations against Joint Business Plan ambitions, platform opportunities and agreed investment priorities to ensure campaign plans are set up to deliver against business and marketing outcomes.
- Build clear audience architecture across first-party data segments, platform-native audiences and third-party data partners, defining inclusion and exclusion rules, frequency caps and suppression lists, including existing customer exclusions where required.
- Partner with media delivery, testing, marketing and agency teams to ensure targeting recommendations are practical, compliant and ready for implementation across relevant buying platforms.
- Align creative assets and variants to audience segments, funnel stages and placement specifications across each digital channel, ensuring format compliance and enabling personalisation, A/B testing and multivariate testing against agreed creative hypotheses.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure digital planning inputs are clearly documented, actionable and aligned to campaign objectives, timelines, compliance requirements and platform specifications.
- Support the development of Bronze brief planning documentation, ensuring recommendations are clear, commercially sound and ready for handover, with final media submissions received and assigned to the internal media delivery team based on campaign requirements, team capacity and delivery priorities.
- Stay informed about the latest industry trends, platform updates, audience products and emerging digital media opportunities, actively applying new insights to current and future campaign planning.
- Manage the monthly internal invoicing process alongside the other Digital Media Managers and Chapter Lead, ensuring budget accuracy, pacing monitoring and portfolio-level reporting remain accurate and up to date.
- Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work independently, showcasing a strong self-starter attitude to drive planning tasks to completion without constant supervision.
Your experience and qualifications
- Demonstrated passion for Digital Media Planning, Strategy, Paid Media & Ad Tech
- Minimum 4 years' Digital Planning & Strategy experience
- Deep understanding of the digital media ecosystem and media landscape in Australia, keeping up to date with industry changes.
- Experience/ Strong Knowledge across Paid Media platforms (SA360, DV360, CM360, Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, Snapchat)
- Experience using analytics tools i.e. Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics
- Self-starter, fast learner who is detail-oriented and is a critical thinker
- Exceptional skills in campaign and coordination management
- Demonstrated analytical skills and highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional at building internal and external relationships with the ability to work cross functionally across a wide range of stakeholders & agency partners.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (highly desirable)
