Job Description




Key responsibilities:




1. Legal Support & Advisory

• Provide legal support to business stakeholders on day-to-day legal matters.


• Assist in delivering clear, practical legal advice under the supervision of senior team members.


• Support the identification and assessment of legal risks, escalating when appropriate.

2. Contracts & Commercial Matters

• Draft, review, and negotiate standard and moderately complex contracts, including commercial agreements and industrial and service contracts.


• Support contract management and ensure alignment with company policies.

3. Corporate & Project Support

• Assist in corporate legal matters, including company law compliance and governance documentation.


• Support legal workstreams on projects and transactions (e.g., partnerships, restructurings, JV), under supervision.

4. Compliance & Risk Management

• Contribute to ensuring compliance with legal and internal policies.


• Participate in legal risk assessments and documentation.


• Support implementation of legal processes and tools.

5. Knowledge Sharing & Team Contribution

• Contribute to the preparation of legal training materials for business stakeholders.


• Collaborate with the France Legal team and Group Legal on shared initiatives.


• Build knowledge across multiple legal domains relevant to the business.

Experience :

• Approximately 2-6 years' experience in commercial and/or corporate law


• Experience in a law firm or international company


• Exposure to contract drafting and transactional support

Education :

• Master's degree in Law (French university preferred)


• French Bar qualification or equivalent is an advantage

Competencies :

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills


• Ability to deliver clear and structured legal work


• Good organizational and time management skills


• Collaborative mindset and willingness to learn


• Attention to detail and risk awareness


• Fluent in French and English

Working Environment:

• Based in St. Denis with occasional travel within France and Europe,


• Exposure to a diverse range of legal topics within an international industrial environment.

The Group Legal and Compliance team of ArcelorMittal is responsible for legal service and support to the business focusing on areas of expertise such as: business development, joint ventures and partnerships, disputes and litigation, competition law, International Trade, Funding, Environment, Climate Change, Health & Safety, corporate issues generally, corporate governance, compliance and data-protection, commercial contracts, labor law, intellectual property and trade secrets, finance. The mission of the ArcelorMittal Legal, Compliance and Company Secretarial Function is to add value to the organization by providing proactive, strategic, effective and efficient advice and to assist in identification and management of legal, regulatory and governance risks and opportunities.
