ax Manager or Senior Manager - Global Mobility (Germany)

Our client is seeking a Tax Manager / Senior Manager (Steuerberater) to join their Global Mobility team, supporting international clients with complex cross-border tax matters.

This role sits within a highly international environment and offers the opportunity to work closely with globally mobile employees, senior stakeholders, and multinational organisations.

Key Responsibilities as Tax Manager

• Review and approve tax returns for globally mobile employees
• Advise clients on international tax planning, payroll tax, and social security matters
• Provide guidance on assignment structures, tax treaties, and expatriate benefits
• Advise employees on tax equalisation and international tax obligations
• Analyse compensation and payroll data to optimise tax outcomes
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients on mobility-related tax matters
• Stay up to date with international tax developments and share insights with clients

Additional Responsibilities at Senior Manager Level

• Manage more complex and higher-value client portfolios
• Take a leading role in client relationship management and business development
• Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts
• Lead, mentor, and develop Managers, Consultants, and Senior Consultants
• Provide strategic input on client engagements and delivery approach

Requirements

• Qualified German Steuerberater (StB)
• Fluent in German and English
• Strong client-facing and analytical skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly
• Leadership experience required for Senior Manager level
• Commercial mindset and ability to operate in an international environment
