Role Overview
The Fraud Operations manager leads a team responsible for detecting and preventing fraudulent activities, ensuring operational efficiency and regulatory compliance. The role involves reviewing and enhancing processes based on fraud trends, managing complex operational issues, and liaising with external stakeholders such as legal enforcement agencies. The position also includes overseeing system enhancement projects, delivering training, and handling urgent customer cases. Success in this role is measured by effective fraud risk mitigation, timely resolution of issues, and development of strategic controls to minimise fraud exposure.

Key Skills & Experience
• Lead the operation of offshore Fraud Operations teams to ensure detection, prevention, and mitigation of fraud.
• Review and perform quality checks on offshore fraud teams’ activities.
• Develop and implement initiatives for process and procedure enhancement based on fraud trend analysis.
• Manage complex operational or control issues, determining and presenting solutions to mitigate fraud risks.
• Provide advice to stakeholders on fraud control prioritisation and escalation routes.
• Liaise with external agencies including legal enforcement bodies to handle urgent cases.
• Manage projects supporting system enhancements and development within Fraud Operations.
• Deliver training sessions to strengthen team capabilities and performance.
• Handle communications with customers involved in complicated or urgent cases.
• Collaborate with Customer Relations to escalate and manage serious complaints from the HKMA.
• Develop streamlining initiatives, draft and review procedures, and provide industry best practices training to offshore fraud teams.
• Perform other duties as assigned by line manager.

Requirements
• University Graduate in Compliance, Banking, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Computer Science or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of solid experience in fraud operations, fraud risks, investigations or relevant disciplines.
• High proficiency in English, Chinese, and Putonghua.
• Ability to communicate effectively, embrace change, and overcome challenges.
• Ability to develop VBA solutions or design and deliver end-to-end data processing tools.
• High level of influencing skills with the ability to communicate on diverse topics to multiple stakeholders.
• Experience in overseeing a robust fraud operations team and working with controls that manage fraud risk is advantageous.
• Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes.
• Ability to cope with pressure and tight deadlines.
