Senior Accountant / Accounts Senior - High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire
£48,000-£55,000 | ACA, ACCA or QBE | Hybrid Working | Independent Accountancy Practice

Fletcher George is recruiting an experienced Senior Accountant / Accounts Senior for a highly regarded independent firm of Chartered Accountants in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.

This opportunity would suit an ACA or ACCA qualified Accountant, or an experienced Qualified by Experience (QBE) Practice Accountant, who enjoys managing client relationships and the breadth of work available within general accountancy practice.

The firm has an excellent reputation for both client service and staff retention, with a culture based on trust, autonomy and genuine flexibility. Most team members work three days in the office and two from home, with flexibility built around client and business requirements.

The Role

You will manage a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses and SMEs, acting as a key point of contact for clients and providing accounting support throughout the year.

Responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts under FRS 102 and FRS 105.
• Preparing quarterly management accounts.
• Managing a portfolio of owner-managed businesses across a range of sectors.
• Building long-term client relationships and acting as a trusted adviser.
• Providing practical accounting and business support.
• Reviewing the work of junior team members and supporting their development.
• Working closely with colleagues and Partners to deliver a high-quality client service.

Knowledge of Personal Tax or Corporate Tax would be useful but is not essential.

About You

You will ideally:

• Be ACA or ACCA qualified, or an experienced QBE Accountant.
• Have recent experience within a UK accountancy practice.
• Have experience preparing statutory accounts under FRS 102 and FRS 105.
• Be comfortable producing management accounts.
• Have strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Enjoy managing client relationships and taking ownership of your portfolio.
• Have good communication and organisational skills.

Candidates currently working as a Senior Accountant, Accounts Senior, Senior Practice Accountant, Client Accountant or experienced Practice Accountant are encouraged to apply.
