Application Support Engineer (eTrading Production Support)

Location: London

Working Pattern: 50% office-based (initially 100% onsite until fully up to speed)

Contract Length: 6 Months (inside IR35)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Application Support Engineer to join a high-performing eTrading Production Support team within a global financial markets environment. The team provides critical support for Rates and Credit electronic trading platforms, supporting complex, business-critical applications across a global infrastructure spanning London, New York, Singapore, Tokyo, Montreal and Mumbai. The role supports more than 800 Windows and Linux servers and numerous electronic trading venues in a follow-the-sun operating model.

Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day production support activities, ensuring maximum platform availability and stability.
Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve incidents across business-critical eTrading platforms.
Perform root cause analysis and drive permanent fixes for recurring issues.
Support and maintain Windows and Linux-based application environments.
Coordinate with development, infrastructure, market vendors and business users to resolve production issues efficiently.
Manage change, release and deployment activities, ensuring adherence to operational standards.
Improve platform resilience, reliability, performance and observability.

Required Skills & Experience

Production Support

Extensive experience supporting business-critical production applications.
Experience operating within a 2nd/3rd line application support or production support environment.
Strong incident management and problem-solving capabilities.
Proven ability to manage issues through to resolution while communicating effectively with stakeholders.
