Fletcher George are arranging interviews for an experienced Accounts Manager to join a well-established, privately owned firm in the Woking area of Surrey. Working within a collaborative team, you will take ownership of a varied portfolio to offer statutory accounts preparation , bookkeeping and payroll services to owner-managed businesses across a range of sectors.

The Accounts Manager Role

• Manage a portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts for selected clients, providing timely and accurate financial information.
• Prepare statutory accounts for a portfolio of clients, ensuring compliance with UK accounting standards and filing requirements.
• Manage bookkeeping for a varied client portfolio.
• Run monthly payrolls for a portfolio of clients, including directors of owner-managed businesses and their employees.
• Process starters, leavers, statutory payments, pension submissions and RTI filings accurately and on time.
• Ensure payrolls are fully compliant with current HMRC legislation including SSP, SMP, SPP and other statutory payments.
• Review bookkeeping and VAT returns, providing high-quality support and advice to clients.
• Support clients using CCH, Brightpayand Xero.
• Onboard new clients, ensuring a smooth transition to cloud-based accounting and payroll systems.

About You

• Previous experience working within an accountancy practice.
• Strong bookkeeping experience together with end-to-end payroll processing.
• Experience preparing statutory accounts for owner-managed businesses FRS102 and FRS 105
• Up-to-date knowledge of UK payroll legislation including SSP, SMP, SPP, P60s, P11Ds and Auto Enrolment.
• Experience using CCH, Payroll and Xero.
• Excellent organisational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• A proactive, client-focused approach with strong communication skills and the confidence to manage your own portfolio.
