Underwriting Manager - Financial Lines



An established and growing MGA is seeking an experienced Financial Lines Underwriting Manager to drive the profitable growth and development of its SME and Mid-Market Financial Lines portfolio.



This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused underwriting professional to take ownership of a key portfolio, strengthen broker and insurer relationships, and play a leading role in future business growth.



Key Responsibilities

• Underwrite new business, renewals and mid-term adjustments across Financial Lines products.


• Drive profitable growth through new business development and relationship management.


• Build and maintain strong broker and insurer partnerships.


• Support the development and launch of new products and propositions.


• Manage, mentor and support a small underwriting team.


• Act as a referral point for underwriting decisions and technical queries.


• Contribute to business plans, budget delivery and strategic growth initiatives.


• Ensure service standards and underwriting compliance are consistently maintained.

Requirements

• Experience underwriting Financial Lines risks within an insurer or MGA environment.


• Strong technical knowledge of Financial Lines products.


• Proven ability to develop broker relationships and generate profitable business.


• Commercially minded with strong stakeholder management skills.


• Cert CII qualified or working towards qualification.


• Leadership or team management experience preferred.


• Acturis experience would be advantageous.
