You'll partner with colleagues across the business to strengthen controls, manage risk, and improve operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee payments under Letters of Credit.

  • Review and approve high-value or complex LC transactions, amendments, and payment executions.

  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex transactions and disputes.

  • Maintain accurate processing in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities and time-sensitive transactions.

  • Deliver consistently high-quality customer service in line with service-level agreements (SLAs).

  • Oversee transaction controls, including compliance checks and required Middle Office and Front Office approvals.

  • Ensure that departmental processes, policies, and internal controls are followed, and that team members understand and apply relevant legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Oversee compliance with anti-boycott regulations, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctions screening, anti-money laundering (AML) policies, red-flag indicators, and suspicious activity reporting requirements.

  • Conduct periodic reviews of compliance procedures, implement updates as needed, and serve as the department's primary liaison with Compliance on regulatory matters.

  • Oversee daily reconciliations of LC activity in U.S. dollars and other currencies.

  • Ensure that client invoices are complete and accurate, and that received fees are applied appropriately.

  • Monitor and report on departmental financial metrics and transaction volumes.

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with Middle Office, Front Office, Compliance, Finance, Legal, and other key stakeholders.

  • Represent the LC department in cross-functional meetings, projects, and initiatives.

  • Identify operational inefficiencies and implement process improvements to increase productivity and reduce risk.

  • Stay current on industry developments, UCP 600, ISP98, and international trade finance regulations.

  • Lead or support technology and system enhancement projects affecting LC operations.

  • Provide strategic guidance and day-to-day advice to clients on LC activities.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree.

  • At least seven years of experience with Letters of Credit, including at least three years of management experience.

  • Proficiency with trade finance systems and banking platforms, including Loan IQ and SWIFT.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.

  • Knowledge of the Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits (UCP 600); International Standby Practices (ISP98; ICC Publication No. 590); Uniform Rules for Bank-to-Bank Reimbursements (URR 525; ICC Publication No. 525); and Uniform Rules for Collections (URC 522; ICC Publication No. 522).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Strong organizational skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under time constraints.

  • A collaborative mindset, high motivation, and consistently professional conduct.

The salary range for the position will be between $175,000 - $210,000. Natixis is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role.
