An opportunity has arisen with a highly successful and fast-paced financial services organisation. Known for its innovative approach, high-performance culture and sophisticated financial operations, this organisation is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join the team on an initial 6-month contract. Working closely with senior finance leaders, you will gain exposure to complex financial reporting, product control activities and strategic business operations within a dynamic environment.
Your new role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will take ownership of a broad range of financial accounting and reporting responsibilities, including:
- Leading month-end close processes across multiple entities
- Preparing financial statements and management reports
- Completing balance sheet, payroll and cash reconciliations
- Managing intercompany transactions and reconciliations
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
- Preparing monthly board reporting packs
- Supporting regulatory and statutory reporting requirements
- Performing trading activity reconciliations and P&L analysis
- Assisting with internal and external audit processes
- Maintaining banking relationships and supporting payment approvals
- Identifying process improvements and cost-saving opportunities
- CA or CPA qualification (or equivalent)
- Demonstrated Financial Accounting experience in a complex environment
- Strong month-end and financial reporting expertise
- Excellent reconciliation and analytical skills
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting and management reporting
- Strong understanding of accounting standards and compliance obligations
- Advanced Excel skills and strong systems proficiency
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Financial services, funds management, banking or investment industry exposure will be highly regarded
- Exposure to product control, trading operations or derivatives accounting will be advantageous
