Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Solution Architect to act as the technical bridge between client and market requirements and our Development & Integration delivery teams.

Positioned at the heart of execution, you ensure that proposed solutions are architected, built, and integrated effectively, safeguarding quality, consistency, scalability, and long-term maintainability.

You provide technical credibility throughout the sales cycle and translate customer needs and commercial commitments into realistic, sustainable solutions that our delivery teams can successfully implement.

Key Responsibilities

• Bid & Proposal Support: Lead technical responses to RFPs, RFIs, and tenders, including solution design, technical documentation, architecture diagrams, effort estimation, and risk identification. Ensure a clear and well-documented handover of won opportunities to the Development & Integration teams, preserving the technical intent and commitments made to the client.
• Solution Definition: Take ownership of the solution architecture from bid handover through delivery, ensuring that the solution delivered remains aligned with agreed client requirements.
• Feasibility & Estimation: Assess the technical feasibility of proposed solutions in collaboration with delivery teams, ensuring that scope, cost, timelines, and technical assumptions are realistic.
• Solution Architecture: Design end-to-end solution architectures across applications, integrations, data, and infrastructure that are technically sound, cost-effective, scalable, and aligned with enterprise standards.
• Integration Architecture: Design robust integration solutions using APIs, middleware, event-driven patterns, and data flows to connect client systems, internal platforms, and third-party services.
• Delivery Governance: Define and promote architecture standards, design patterns, and technical guardrails across development and integration projects.
• Technical Leadership: Guide development squads and integration teams on architecture decisions and facilitate design and architecture reviews throughout the project lifecycle.
• Risk & Quality: Identify technical risks early, recommend mitigation strategies, and safeguard non-functional requirements including performance, security, scalability, and maintainability.
• Vendor & Tooling: Contribute to the evaluation and selection of integration platforms, middleware, and development tooling in line with enterprise architecture standards.
• Cross-Project Consistency: Promote architectural consistency, reusable patterns, and knowledge sharing across multiple development and integration projects.
• Client Technical Relationship: Act as a trusted technical point of contact for clients during delivery, supporting discussions around architecture, scope, technical decisions, and change requests.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in solution architecture, software architecture, or technical leadership within software development and systems integration environments.
• Strong knowledge of application architecture, API and integration design, and modern software engineering practices, including microservices, event-driven architecture, and CI/CD.
• Experience translating business and commercial requirements into concrete, feasible technical solutions and delivery plans.
• Experience providing architecture guidance or governance across multiple projects and development teams.
• Solid understanding of non-functional requirements, including performance, scalability, security, reliability, and maintainability.
• Experience with integration platforms and patterns such as ESB, iPaaS, API gateways, and message brokers.
• Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks and modelling approaches such as TOGAF, ArchiMate, UML, or the C4 model.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with both business and commercial stakeholders and technical teams.
• Relevant certifications, such as TOGAF or cloud and integration certifications such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud or MuleSoft, are an advantage rather than a requirement.
